Pilvia working with Oulu University of Applied Sciences

Pilvia’s services have been used in education purposes at Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) for around two years.
Pekka Ojala, a lecturer at the Information Technology department, heard about Pilvia from his colleague and decided to test it in his classes. He teaches students in the Business Information Systems degree.
“It has been solely used in teaching. We have used it for teaching how to use WordPress, students use it in project courses when they do WordPress sites as a mandate and some use it in their thesis”, he explains.
In addition to ICT students, Ojala begins to teach WordPress to business economics students shortly as well.
He tells that he has been very pleased with Pilvia’s services.
“I personally really like the user interface. It’s a distinct and simple service. It doesn’t really have any problems with performance.”
The students, too, seem to enjoy it.
“We haven’t had a systematic survey but the students will say if they aren’t pleased. We have had a lot of critique about other systems but not about Pilvia”, Ojala adds.
Because of cutting back, Oamk had to give up some web hotels and virtual servers: and that’s when Pilvia came in. Pilvia wanted to work with Oamk even after pricing changes so they offered a free plan for education purposes.
“It has been a great help for us with teaching content management systems”, Ojala says.
